Job summary

A technology solutions company is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to engage in design projects that can be performed remotely. Candidates should possess strong skills in SolidWorks CAD, experience in R&D, and excellent communication abilities. The role may occasionally require visits to client sites in the Bay Area. Competitive pay at approximately $45/hr - $50/hr.

Qualifications

• Experience in SolidWorks CAD design engineering.
• Solid Edge (Siemens) experience is a plus.
• Experience with PDM systems.
• R&D experience in emerging market products.
• Expertise in machine and equipment designs.
• Familiarity with BOMs, GD&T standards.
• 2D and 3D modeling experience.
• Ability to work on metals, plastics, and composites.
• Strong communication skills with clients.

Responsibilities

• Design engineering in various projects, primarily in manufacturing.
• Interface directly with customers and engineering team leaders.
• Work independently with limited internal collaboration.

This position pays around $45/hr - $50/hr on W2

Anyone hired may need to work on occasion at a Bay Area client site; otherwise could be 100% remote

Required/Desired/JD:

• Design engineering in SolidWorks CAD
• Solid Edge (Siemens) experience is a big plus
• PDM experience
• R&D experience with products in emerging markets/various industries
• Machine and Equipment Designs
• Packaging
• GD&T, Stds
• BOM's
• 2D Drawings & 3D Modeling experience
• Metals, Plastics, IMP, Composites
• Mechanisms, Stands, Conveyors, Fluidics, Cabling, Power Systems, etc.
• Blueprints, Engineering Drawings, Diagrams, Client input
• Understands start-up environments and established company models
• Work on a variety of products and projects, mostly in the manufacturing space
• Interface directly with customers/engineering team leaders
• Excellent Communication Skills, Independent engineer and thinker who can work with limited internal input/collaboration, Resourceful, Able to offer Solutions, able to communicate well with client executives and engineering teams
