Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering or related technical field preferred.
• 10+ years of professional experience with Autodesk Inventor or equivalent 3D CAD software.
• Strong understanding of mechanical principles, manufacturing processes, material science.
• Experience designing pump skids and piping layouts.
• Detail-oriented with ability to maintain fully detailed models.

Responsibilities

• Create complete solid models and detailed piece-part drawings with proper mating and constraints.
• Develop pump skid and piping layouts for efficient layout and fluid flow.

Description

Overview:
Hayden Industrial, a leading manufacturer of industrial cooling systems, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer responsible for developing high-quality 3D CAD models and detailed manufacturing drawings using Autodesk Inventor. This role requires a creative problem-solver with a strong independent work ethic and a meticulous eye for accuracy. The successful candidate will collaborate with the engineering team to design innovative, functional mechanical systems while ensuring all documentation adheres to company standards and production deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

· 3D Modeling & Drafting: Create complete, accurate solid models and comprehensive piece-part drawings. Maintain rigorous modeling consistency, utilizing proper mating and constraints.

· System & Layout Design: Develop efficient pump skid and piping layouts, ensuring optimal spatial arrangement and fluid flow principles.

· Structural Elements: Incorporate basic structural design fundamentals to ensure the structural integrity, support, and safety of skid frameworks and associated equipment.

· Data & Inventory Management: Utilize existing components whenever possible. When new parts are required, generate new part numbers and enter them into the system following standardized protocols.

· Project Documentation: Prepare standardized approval drawings for customer review, and compile accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) within both the engineering drawings and the ERP system.

· Production Release: Prepare and complete formal release sheets to transition finalized projects efficiently to the manufacturing shop floor.

· Quality Assurance & Revision: Address and correct any errors identified during the engineering checking process. Actively monitor drawing accuracy to minimize production costs and maximize shop throughput.

· Project Scheduling: Evaluate workload to communicate realistic, reliable project due dates. These timelines are critical, as they directly dictate the schedule of the entire drafting department.

· Continuous Improvement: Share innovative ideas and workflow optimizations to improve departmental productivity and drafting standards.

· Adaptability: Remain open-minded and willing to perform other reasonable duties and tasks as assigned to support department needs.

Hayden Industrial has determined this position involves safety-sensitive job duties and will be considered a safety-sensitive position for purpose of the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act (“The Unity Bill.”) effective August 29th, 2019.

Education and Experience:

· Education: Associate degree in Engineering, Mechanical Design, or a related technical field is preferred.

· Technical Expertise: 10+ years of professional experience utilizing Autodesk Inventor or equivalent 3D CAD software, with a proven track record in 3D solid modeling and piece-part detailing.

· Industry Knowledge: Strong foundational understanding of mechanical principles, manufacturing processes, material science, and basic structural design.

· Specialized Experience: Hands-on experience designing pump skids and complex piping layouts.

· Collaboration & Accountability: Exceptional independent problem-solving abilities coupled with strong communication skills for cross-departmental alignment.

· Organization: Highly detail-oriented with the ability to maintain clean, fully detailed models that can be seamlessly handed off or reassigned within the drafting team if necessary.

Supervisor Responsibility:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:
Non-temperature controlled environment with loud noises, dust, dirt, and metal particles that are usually associated with metal fabrication shops. All employees are required to wear personal protective equipment to include noise/hearing protection, safety glasses with side shields, (paint masks, respirator, when required) and OSHA compliant safety boots/shoes within the manufacturing facility.

While performing duties of this job, the employee in this position is regularly required to stand for long periods of time. This position requires walking, the ability to reach, ascend/descend ladders, bend, kneel, and stoop. The employee occasionally will lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday, 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

No travel is required for this position.
