Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of mechanical design or engineering experience.
  • Experience with mission-critical facilities, data centers, or similar complex buildings.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC and building mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with ASHRAE standards and applicable building codes.
  • Mechanical PE license is a plus; EIT/PE progression is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical/HVAC systems for data center projects.
  • Prepare engineering drawings, construction documents, specifications and calculations.
  • Assist with HVAC system sizing, load calculations, and system layouts.
  • Coordinate designs with architectural, electrical, structural, plumbing, and other disciplines.
  • Support BIM/Revit coordination and multidisciplinary design coordination.
  • Review drawings, submittals, RFIs, and project documentation.
  • Apply building codes and ASHRAE standards.
  • Assist with site visits, field investigations, and construction administration.
  • Support senior engineers and project managers to deliver on schedule and budget.
  • Perform quality control to ensure designs are constructible.

About the Opportunity:

We are seeking a Mechanical Designer or Mechanical Engineer with approximately 3–5 years of experience to join a growing engineering team. The ideal candidate will have experience working on mission-critical facilities, data centers, or other technically complex building projects.

This opportunity is open to candidates from either a mechanical design or mechanical engineering background, provided they have strong building mechanical/HVAC experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop mechanical/HVAC systems for building projects, particularly mission-critical and data center facilities.
  • Prepare engineering drawings, construction documents, specifications, and technical calculations.
  • Assist with HVAC system selection, equipment sizing, load calculations, and system layouts.
  • Coordinate mechanical designs with architectural, electrical, structural, plumbing, and other disciplines.
  • Participate in project meetings with clients, contractors, architects, and engineering teams.
  • Support BIM/Revit coordination and multidisciplinary design coordination.
  • Review drawings, submittals, RFIs, and other project documentation.
  • Apply applicable building codes, ASHRAE standards, and engineering practices.
  • Assist with site visits, field investigations, construction administration, and troubleshooting.
  • Support senior engineers and project managers in delivering projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Perform quality control to ensure designs are accurate, coordinated, and constructible.
Ideal Candidate:
  • 3–5 years of experience in mechanical engineering or mechanical design.
  • Experience with mission-critical facilities, data centers, healthcare, industrial, or complex commercial buildings.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC and building mechanical systems.
  • Experience with Revit and/or AutoCAD.
  • Familiarity with ASHRAE standards and applicable building codes.
  • Strong multidisciplinary coordination and communication skills.
  • Mechanical PE license is a plus and may impact compensation.
  • EIT or progress toward PE is also a plus.
Compensation & Location:

The anticipated salary range is $90,000–$120,000, depending on experience, technical background, and professional licensure.
