Job summary

MRL Consulting Group | Global Niche Technology Recruitment seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to support semiconductor equipment components on Long Island, NY. You will learn product lines, design and test new parts to improve MTBF/MTBM, and translate customer requirements into effective designs with engineering and sales teams.

Ideal candidates have 6 years in mechanical design, strong CAD skills (SolidWorks or Inventor), GD&T proficiency, and familiarity with LabVIEW or COMSOL.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field required; master's preferred.
• 3-5 years in a design engineering role; semiconductor and/or ion optical industry experience preferred.
• Knowledge of ion optics and/or metallurgy of refractory metals preferred.
• Ability to create and read mechanical drawings, and to understand complex GD&T as it pertains to thermodynamics (required).
• Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks or Inventor.
• Proficiency with LabVIEW and/or COMSOL preferred.
• Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in teams.
• Ability to thrive in a detail-oriented environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

Mechanical Design Engineer - Semiconductor Equipment Components

Location: Long Island, NY (on-site)

They deliver components and design solutions for some of the most complex problems in wafer fabrication, including advanced ion optical beamline solutions such as ion implant sources, extraction electrodes, Faraday cups and related components. About the Role

The Mechanical Design Engineer will first learn the company's extensive product lines and improved designs for the various ion implant tools it supports. You will work alongside senior managers to create, design and test new products that maximize Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and Mean Time Between Maintenance (MTBM). You will also work directly with the engineering and sales teams to translate customer requirements into solutions that meet, and ideally exceed, expectations.
