ALMACO in Nevada, IA is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a small team, bringing technical ideas to life in a hands-on environment. This full-time exempt role offers a path to contribute across a variety of products and get diverse experience.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and 2–3 years of related design experience. SolidWorks is preferred, and the candidate will create production drawings, BOMs, and assemblies in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is required.
• Two to three years of experience designing mechanical products, equipment, or machinery in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with 3D parametric CAD software; SolidWorks experience is preferred.
• Must be able to create and interpret production drawings, assemblies, tolerances, and bills of materials.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Customer-service orientation and the ability to explain technical information clearly.
• Comfort learning job-specific software and working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

• Manufacturer environment with potential exposure to heat, dust, loud noise, and mechanical hazards.
• This role is primarily seated but includes walking, standing, bending, reaching, and occasional lifting.
