Job summary

DFW Consulting Group, Inc. is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer in Irving, TX to design mechanical systems for new construction and retrofit projects, with a focus on mission-critical facilities. The role requires coordinating with multiple disciplines and leading the mechanical design on assigned projects.

The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years in the MEP field, a B.S. in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering, and may have PE licensure.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in the Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP) industry.
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering (or higher).
• Professional Engineering Licensure preferred.
• Ability to take personal responsibility for quality and accuracy of work.
• Proficiency in mechanical system design and developing the technical specifications for projects under their care.
• Thrive in a team-oriented, casual environment.
• Strong communication and relationship building skills.
• Excellent customer service skills with a passion for quality design work.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems for new construction and retrofit projects, focusing on mission-critical facility design.
• Coordinate design requirements with other disciplines and act as the Lead Engineer for the mechanical discipline on assigned projects, reviewing designs and calculations for accuracy and quality; assist in managing project quality, schedule, and budget.

This position will have the opportunity to design mechanical systems for exciting new construction and retrofit projects, with a focus on mission critical facility design. Projects will be multi-discipline, and the ability to adeptly coordinate with other disciplines is required. The ideal candidate will produce drawing markups and specifications; coordinate design requirements with other disciplines, as well as act as the Lead Engineer for the mechanical discipline on assigned projects by reviewing designs and calculations for accuracy and quality and assisting in the overall efforts to effectively manage project quality, schedule and budget.
