Job summary

Clayton Services in Southwest Houston is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design products and support new development from concept through production. The role requires SolidWorks proficiency and strong collaboration with manufacturing teams to deliver innovative solutions.

The candidate will create drawings and documentation, perform engineering calculations, and assist with testing and validation to ensure manufacturability and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Minimum 3+ years of mechanical design experience in manufacturing/industrial environment.
• Experience using SolidWorks is required.
• Experience supporting engineered products from concept through production.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical products and assemblies using 3D CAD software.
• Create engineering drawings, technical documentation, and manufacturing packages.
• Perform calculations related to product performance, materials, tolerances, and functionality.
• Evaluate customer requirements and develop customized engineering solutions.
• Support new product development and product enhancement initiatives.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and operations teams to ensure efficient production.
• Assist with testing, validation, and implementation of engineering improvements.
• Analyze and resolve technical issues related to product performance and manufacturability.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives throughout the engineering process.
• Other duties as assigned.

Clayton Services is searching for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a growing industrial manufacturing organization in Southwest Houston. The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing engineered products, supporting new product development initiatives, and collaborating with manufacturing teams to bring innovative solutions from concept through production.

Job Type: Direct Hire

Pay Rate: $70,000 - $100,000

Mechanical Design Engineer Responsibilities:

• Design and develop mechanical products and assemblies utilizing 3D CAD software
• Create engineering drawings, technical documentation, and manufacturing packages
• Perform engineering calculations related to product performance, materials, tolerances, and functionality

Mechanical Design Engineer Education and Experience:
