A leading aerospace client is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support commercial aircraft programs. This role will focus on the design, development, and integration of mechanical and structural components across multiple aircraft systems, supporting the full product lifecycle from initial concept through certification and in-service support.
This position sits within a fast-paced engineering environment where teams are responsible for delivering safe, compliant, and manufacturable designs across large-scale aircraft platforms.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for commercial aircraft including structures, interiors, and supporting systems (fuselage, seating, brackets, mounts, etc.)
- Create, modify, and review 3D models and engineering drawings using CAD tools (CATIA, NX, etc.)
- Support integration of mechanical systems across the aircraft by coordinating with structural, systems, and manufacturing engineering teams
- Perform design analysis and validation activities to ensure components meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements
- Support product lifecycle activities including concept development, design iteration, build, testing, certification, and in-service support
- Identify and resolve design issues related to manufacturability, installation, or in-service performance
- Partner with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure design compatibility and compliance
