A leading company in automation technology is seeking an Automation Mechanical Design Engineer to create innovative mechanical designs. In this full-time position based in Dayton, you'll collaborate closely with the team to enhance production efficiency. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and at least 5 years of experience in the automation field, complementing their technical expertise with strong knowledge of industry standards.

You won’t just be sitting behind a screen—you’ll work side by side with the shop floor team to troubleshoot issues and make sure your designs perform in the real world. • Develop mechanical designs (3-D models) for the manufacturing of special machines, press stations, robotic cells, EOAT, assembly machines, and other automation.
• Provide mechanical designs based on customer requirements. This involves coordinating with controls engineers and manufacturing to ensure the efficient designing, building and delivery of equipment that meets or exceeds the design intent and requirements of the customer.
• Execute engineering calculations (static, dynamic), interpret and analyze technical drawings, and define components, mechanical diagrams, and specific tools for manufacturing and assembly.
• The design work includes overseeing the detailing of the design, completion of all assembly drawings, and the ordering of purchased items and raw material. As well as the development of the planning documents for determining all motion control components and function/cycle time diagrams.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
• Minimum of 5 years’ mechanical engineering design experience in an automation/special machine or robotic integration/cell environment.
• Knowledge of mechanical design, material science, manufacturing processes, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
• Knowledge of ANSI, ISO, DIN standards, and metric system.
