Within the Engineering Team, the Mechanical Design Engineer plays a crucial role in designing, developing
and implementing mechanical solutions for projects and products. Goal is to bridge the gap between engineering concepts and manufacturing feasibility.
The role acts as a technical reference for mechanical discipline, with responsibility for detailed
engineering activities across the mechanical scope. This includes piping layouts, civil inputs,
mechanical and piping supports, mechanical equipment layouts and fabrication packages.
Key activities:
- Support 3D and 2D design development using Autodesk Inventor.
- Actively participate in meetings with interdisciplinary teams and vendors.
- Create data sheets and specifications to provide complete packages and related materials to
- Laying out equipment per P&ID
- Generate manufacturing drawings for parts and assemblies, determine manufacturing
processes and specify appropriate materials/specifications
- Support the supervision of activities performed by external fabrication and engineering subcontractors.
- Evaluate construction methods and assess plan cost-effectiveness based on industry experience.
Main Task and Responsibilities:
- Complete assigned tasks on schedule and within budget while meeting all project and task requirements.
- Assist with creating and managing BOM documentation and equipment specifications.
- Apply sound engineering practices, national and international standards, and project technical specifications.
- Optimize designs for cost, schedule, quality, and operability.
- Maintain strong attention to detail and design feasibility.
- Identify, define, and deliver effective solutions to emerging issues.
- Revise designs to meet requirements and resolve malfunctions.
- Collect input from operators, process engineers, electrical engineers, fabricators and other disciplines to drive continuous improvement.
- Continuously learn and develop new theories, methods, or approaches.
Education and Professional experience:
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD software.
- Solid understanding of key concepts, including fluid dynamic, mechanics and materials
- Proficient in GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and in applying relevant national and international mechanical standards and codes to create fabrication design packages.
- Good practices of fabrication/assembly methods (welding, frame assemblies, machining, plastic construction, metal/plastic tubing and piping, fittings, ect.)
- Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic systems design
- Strong focus on detail, safety, and operability.
Additional Skills and Requirements:
- Creative thinking and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to explain technical information clearly and effectively.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer and client focus.
