Position Summary

The Project Engineer/Mechanical Designer is responsible for leading and coordinating the technical and engineering activities associated with Mikropul and LCI equipment. This position combines hands‑on mechanical design with cross‑functional project coordination. The role includes developing detailed designs of cyclones, dust collectors, processing equipment, and other proprietary systems while ensuring engineering solutions are efficient, cost‑effective, and compliant with applicable standards, customer requirements, and internal guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Design and model mechanical components, machined parts, weldments, and steel structures using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.

  • Perform engineering calculations to satisfy industry code, safety, and performance requirements.
  • Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), drawing packages, and specification documents in accordance with company standards.
  • Ensure all designs meet customer specifications, company capabilities, and applicable codes (e.g., ASME Section VIII, ASME B31.3, AWS D1.1).
  • Manage engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle—from concept to completion.
  • Provide technical input during quotation, procurement, manufacturing, and installation phases.
  • Support Project Managers by identifying design conflicts, cost or schedule risks, and manufacturability issues.
  • Review, check, and approve drawings, calculations, and design work produced by other engineers and designers.
  • Participate in and oversee manufacturing inspections, assembly operations, and mechanical equipment testing.
  • Generate customer and internal documentation, including GA drawings, calculation sheets, work orders, and O&M manuals.
  • Review client specifications for compliance and prepare exceptions when needed.
  • Support sales and aftermarket teams with technical evaluations, feasibility assessments, and product knowledge.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) required.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and project engineering, preferably related to industrial equipment, process systems, or pollution control technologies.
  • Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD (2D/3D) required.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing, machining, and fabrication practices.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards, including ASME Section VIII Div. 1, ASME B31.3, and AWS D1.1.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and ERP systems (IFS preferred).
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
