Job summary

Qualifications

THE ROLE

The Mechanical & Controls Engineer will support the design, development, installation, and commissioning of modifications and upgrades to pilot‑scale roll‑to‑roll coating equipment. This role combines mechanical engineering, automation, controls, and process equipment integration to improve coating capabilities, process monitoring, and operational efficiency.

The engineer will work closely with senior engineers and researchers to design, build, test, and implement equipment modifications for advanced coating and web handling systems. This is a hands‑on engineering position requiring both technical design skills and practical equipment integration experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop mechanical designs and engineering solutions for coating system upgrades

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with roll‑to‑roll processing, web handling, coating processes, machine vision systems, or precision manufacturing equipment is a plus.
• Knowledge of machine vision systems and inspection technologies.
• Exposure to PLC programming and industrial controls.
• Experience supporting prototype, pilot‑scale, or R&D manufacturing equipment.

To provide applicants with a more complete picture of our compensation philosophy, we are disclosing both the estimated annual total compensation and the annual base salary range for this position. For this position, the estimated annual total compensation range is $140,000 to $200,000, based on the Company's most recent annual bonus payout. The annual base salary range for this position is $100,000 to $130,000.

The annual base salary range reflects the Company's good‑faith estimate of the base salary it reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of posting. Actual starting base salary is determined based on job‑related factors, including experience, skills, education, certifications, and other qualifications. Annual bonus payments are based on Company performance, are not guaranteed, and may be higher or lower than the estimate reflected above.
