Job summary

Jacobs in Saint Francisville, LA is seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Manager to lead daily scheduling, planning, and on-site activities for a data center project. You will ensure materials, equipment, and personnel are available to complete work safely and efficiently.

You’ll manage subcontractors, review submittals, and coordinate with clients and stakeholders to keep the project on track from start to turnover.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Construction, or Engineering.
• 8+ years of construction site experience.
• Knowledge of pre-design/pre-construction, building systems, contract management, and delivery methods.
• Understanding of construction activity sequencing.
• Strong understanding of Mechanical and Plumbing systems.
• Experience with 3D modeling software and active construction sites.
• Experience managing a project schedule.
• Knowledge of Quality Control and QA testing.
• Experience with pre-dynamic and dynamic walkdowns and start-up processes.
• Knowledge of commissioning and qualification for MEP systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct project meetings with contractor and stakeholders.
• Maintain official project documentation files and logs.
• Perform onsite activities that will include onsite inspections and walkdowns and may also include construction or field administration tasks.
• Review submittals, shop drawings, material certifications, and other project deliverables, which will support the end of project turnover process.
• Ensure all construction is in compliance with design specifications and drawings.
• Support the project management team in change management and monthly invoicing process.
• Tracking of work in place and construction progression.
• Coordination and management of daily tasks to support the progression of project schedule activities and accurate reporting.
• Work to build a cooperative partnership between the client, contractor, and all stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of project issues and the overall success of the project.

What You’ll Need

• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Construction, or Engineering.
• At least 8 years of construction site experience.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of pre‑design and pre‑construction, building systems/components and technology, contract management, project delivery methods, team building and client relationship building.
• Knowledge of general construction activity sequencing and execution.
• Strong understanding of Mechanical and Plumbing systems and associated equipment.
• Experience with 3D modeling software and a physical presence on active construction projects.
• Experience with the management of a project schedule.
• Knowledge of Quality Control and Quality Assurance testing/reporting.
• Experience with both pre‑dynamic and dynamic walkdown and start‑up processes.
• Knowledge of the commissioning and qualification process as it specifically relates to MEP systems.

Ideal

• Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification or Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
• Data center construction experience.
• Knowledge and experience in Automatic Temperature Control (ATC), Building Automation Systems (BAS) and Process Controls systems such as DeltaV or other.
• Knowledge and experience with starting up equipment and systems and day‑to‑day management of systems until project turnover.
• Knowledge and experience with implementation of LEAN strategies and technologies in project execution, including Last Planner System (LPS), 5S Construction and off‑site manufacturing (OSM) construction.

The base salary range for this position is $103,100.00 to $141,800.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
