Job summary

ACCIONA Energía seeks a Mechanical Engineer II – Construction to support North American renewable energy projects. The role oversees mechanical construction, ensuring safety, quality, and adherence to designs and standards.

It acts as a SME, coordinating with engineering teams, contractors, and QA/QC requirements throughout construction, commissioning and turnover to operations. The position requires 3–5 years in mechanical engineering, familiarity with renewables or industrial construction, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• EIT certification preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer.
• Experience in renewable energy, power generation, utility, or industrial construction projects preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience with project management software such as MS Project or Primavera is a plus.
• Experience with AutoCAD is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel as needed to support project requirements.
• Due to equipment and project safety requirements, this position may be subject to specific weight limitations.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Oversee mechanical construction activities to ensure compliance with project specs and QA/QC requirements.
• Serve as SME for mechanical construction, supporting reviews, coordination, and RFIs.
• Monitor construction quality and ensure conformance with plans and codes.
• Maintain project documentation including submittals, RFIs, change orders, drawings, logs.
• Participate in project meetings, commissioning, testing, startup, and turnover.
• Monitor safety and environmental compliance; support safety programs and KPI tracking.
• Support training and development of new Construction Engineers and provide technical guidance.
