Job summary

Clear Destination Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Commissioning Technician to support field commissioning activities under supervision, focusing on mechanical equipment, piping, and vibration analysis.

You will perform pump and motor alignment, manage flange integrity, and ensure safety procedures are followed, with hands-on tasks and coordination with construction teams. This role requires 5+ years of commissioning experience in upstream oil and gas, plus proficiency with MS Office and site safety

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Commissioning experience in a similar role.
• Knowledgeable in Flange Management and Joint Integrity processes.
• Knowledgeable in the use of alignment equipment and other related mechanical testing equipment.
• Relevant upstream oil and gas experience and technical certifications will be considered.
• Candidate should be a motivated self-starter with complex problem-solving ability.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example with a strong commitment to Health, Safety and the Environment, attending safety meetings and site visits.
• Follow Lockout/Tagout procedures and safety regulations.
• Coordinate with construction and torquing contractor to identify flanges for spool replacement or maintenance.
• Tagging and documentation in Excel and related records.
• Verify the torquing company scope and flange management procedure.
• Ensure all documentation is complete and tools are calibrated.
• Perform hands-on mechanical tasks on project procedures.
• Witness and perform pump and motor alignment activities.
• Support uncoupled motor runs with vibration analysis.
• Perform coupled pump runs with vibration analysis.
• Carry out millwright and piping duties for pumps, vessels, motors, valves.
• Conduct/attend site walk-downs prior to commissioning.
• Inspect installed mechanical equipment and follow approved procedures.
• Perform vibration, temperature, RPM checks during pre- and main commissioning.
• Complete subsystem and system walkdowns for acceptance and handover to Completions.
• Provide start-up support to Operations as required.
• Execute preservation requirements per Preservation Coordinator.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Mechanical Commissioning Technician shall support the overall set of commissioning activities per the guidance of his / her supervisor in a safe and efficient manner. Candidate shall have a deep understanding of mechanical equipment (static and rotating equipment) and piping systems knowledge and overall experience of performing commissioning tasks.

RESPONSIBLITIES

• Lead by example while demonstrating a personal commitment to Health, Safety and the Environment by ensuring personal safety and as far as is reasonably practical that of others through participating in regularly scheduled safety meetings, site safety visits and safety conversations.
• Knowledge of LOTO procedures, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
• Work with construction and torquing contractor to identify flanges that will be broke loose for spool replacement or routine maintenance, bolts/gaskets changed, and torqued.
• Coordinate with construction and the torquing company for the proper tagging process and filling out joint registers in excel and other associated documents as needed
• Verify the torquing company is performing their scope of work by the flange management procedure
• Verify all documentation is filled out correct
• Verify the tools that are being used are calibrated
• Completes the hands-on tasks relevant to the mechanical procedures on the project;
