Greenfield Life Science Manufacturing Facility is seeking a Mechanical Commissioning Lead to own the start-up of utility and mechanical systems, and to lead a team of commissioning engineers from installation through handover.

The role demands 10+ years in commissioning or startup within pharma or heavy industrial environments, hands-on utility know-how, and proven leadership to drive safety, quality, and on-time turnover of complex systems.

• Experience building start-up logic and handing over on capital projects.
• Strong safety background: LOTO, energy isolation and site procedures.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and mentor a team of Utility and Mechanical Commissioning Engineers through IV and OV execution.
• Own the start-up logic and handover prioritization for mechanical and utility systems, aligning with construction and turnover schedules.
• Direct the development and review of OV test scripts, ensuring quality and consistency across the team.
• Plan and oversee start-up activities including flushing, pressure testing, system energization and livening.
• Drive a strong safety culture on site, including LOTO compliance, hazard assessment and daily toolbox talks.
• Coordinate vendors and contractors through start-up, testing and punch list closure.
• Act as the key interface between construction, engineering, quality and operations for mechanical system readiness.
• Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis on system issues during start-up.
• Report progress, risks and look-ahead plans to commissioning and project leadership.

Overview

A leading Life Science company is delivering a $15B greenfield manufacturing campus in Indiana. We are looking for a Mechanical Commissioning Lead to take ownership of utility and mechanical system start-up, leading a team of commissioning engineers from installation through to handover. This role suits someone who has started up utility systems hands-on and has progressed into leading teams and driving the start-up sequence on a large-scale build.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of Utility and Mechanical Commissioning Engineers through installation verification (IV) and operational verification (OV) execution
• Own the start-up logic and handover prioritization for mechanical and utility systems, aligning with construction and turnover schedules
• Direct the development and review of OV test scripts, ensuring quality and consistency across the team
• Plan and oversee start-up activities including flushing, pressure testing, system energization and livening
• Drive a strong safety culture on site, including LOTO compliance, hazard assessment and daily toolbox talks
• Coordinate vendors and contractors through start-up, testing and punch list closure

Requirements

• 10+ years' experience in commissioning, start-up or maintenance of utility systems within Pharma, Life Sciences, Oil & Gas or heavy industrial environments
• Proven experience leading teams of engineers or technicians in the field
• Hands-on knowledge of clean and black utilities, HVAC, process piping and associated power distribution
• Experience building start-up logic and supporting system handover on capital projects
• Strong understanding of LOTO, energy isolation and site safety procedures
• Experience coordinating vendors and contractors on site
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical and mechanical drawings
• Experience in a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment
• Kneat or other paperless validation platform experience
• Exposure to PQ and the wider C&Q lifecycle
• Greenfield or large capital project experience
