Job summary

Shamrock Consulting in Charlotte is seeking a Senior Mechanical Commissioning Agent II to lead testing, optimization, and validation of mechanical systems across critical facilities. You will collaborate with design engineers, vendors, contractors, and client teams, and mentor junior engineers on complex projects.

This role focuses on developing commissioning plans, coordinating functional testing, and delivering operating procedures, while advancing high-performance building operations in data

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years hands-on field experience testing, validating, and troubleshooting large mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate Commissioning Plans consistent with ASHRAE Guideline 0.
• Lead functional testing of multi-stack equipment and multi-redundant system configurations.
• Provide peer-review-level feedback on design criteria, specs, drawings, and equipment submittals.
• Lead commissioning efforts across multiple trades with direct client management involvement.
• Author operating procedures and technical instruction material.
• Mentor and oversee 1-2 engineers on your projects.

You'll partner with design engineers, vendors, contractors, and client teams — and mentor junior engineers along the way.

What you'll do

What you bring

• Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
• 6+ years hands-on field experience testing, validating, and troubleshooting large mechanical systems
• Commissioning background in data center, industrial, commercial, operations center, high-rise, or healthcare facilities
• Thorough understanding of applicable codes; working knowledge of LEED principles
• ASHRAE, BCxA, or PECI Cx / Retro-Cx experience a plus
• PE or a recognized commissioning certification preferred
