Job summary

Inherent Technologies, Inc. in Fremont, CA is seeking a Mechanical CAD Engineer to support a hardware accelerator module mechanical team. You will create detailed Creo models, release drawings with GD&T, and manage CAD/BOM in PLM systems.

The role requires hands-on ECAD-to-MCAD IDF/IDX exchange, routing, and DFM/DFA considerations for server/datacenter hardware. On-site position with a 1-year duration.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of mechanical detailed design and drafting in electronics, server or datacenter hardware.
• Creo (Pro/E) proficiency for parts, assemblies and detailed drawings.
• PLM drawing release, ECO/change control and revision management experience.
• ASME Y14.5 GD&T knowledge with hands-on tolerance stack-up analysis.
• ECAD-to-MCAD IDF/IDX exchange with electrical teams.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed Creo models for module assemblies and piece parts.
• Produce release-quality drawings with full GD&T and tolerance stack-ups.
• Prepare drawing-release packages and ECO/change-control records; maintain master CAD and BOM in the client PLM.
• Execute ECAD/MCAD IDF/IDX exchange, including PKO, heatsink/stiffener parameters and KOZ/KIZ maintenance.
• Detail cold-plate and hose routing, mounting features and torque callouts.
• Support socket and silicon validation board mechanical detailing.
• Support DFM/DFA reviews covering assembly sequence, serviceability and service tooling.
• Incorporate design-review redlines and maintain clean, traceable revisions.

• Strong GD&T knowledge to ASME Y14.5 with hands-on tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Hands-on ECAD-to-MCAD IDF/IDX exchange experience with electrical/layout teams.
• Disciplined documentation and ability to execute another engineer's design intent.
