Job summary

Draper in Cambridge, MA is seeking a Mechanical CAD Designer to turn concepts into build-ready drawings for prototypes and production parts. You will create SolidWorks and Creo models, draft layouts, and ensure documents align with shop floor needs.

You should be proficient in 3D CAD, familiar with 3DX PLM, and able to work with engineers to translate designs into realistic hardware. US citizenship and ability to obtain government clearance are required or plus.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in technical drafting.
• Strong 3D CAD modeling and drafting skills in Creo or SolidWorks.
• Experience with PLM (3DX) preferred.
• Ability to read component datasheets and reference specs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Create SolidWorks and/or Creo models and drawings for machine components, cables & wire harnesses, and PCB assemblies.
• Manage designs and CAD files using 3D Experience PLM.
• Execute drawing revisions per engineering change requests.
• Draft to company and national standards; identify design issues with guidance.
• Communicate project status to management and team; assist with other assignments.
