Job summary

Qualifications

• AAS in Mechanical Engineering Technology or BS in Mechanical Engineering/Technology.
• 3–5 years of professional mechanical design experience in industrial/manufacturing settings.
• Proficiency with mechanical CAD software for modeling and detailing; read electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

• Create mechanical equipment designs and layouts in CAD per standards.
• Produce and maintain drawing packages, build packages, part lists and specs.
• Redesign components to cut costs and resolve interferences.
• Execute design changes while keeping performance requirements intact.
• Provide sketches and marked drawings as project needs shift.
• Coordinate across departments to keep designs on schedule.
• Travel occasionally to vendor sites in NC for information gathering.
