CAD Designer - MBD

Full job description

AM Aerostructures is actively seeking a MBD CAD Designer to join our team! As a MBD Designer, you will be responsible for creating 3D cad models and drawings from existing 2D drawings and meticulously reviewing and scrutinizing design documentation to ensure compliance with established standards and regulations within the Defense industry.

You will also enter the part into the ERP system and Teamcenter.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive customer 2D drawings and create a 3D CAD model and drawing in SolidWorks or NX per AM Aero procedures using Solidworks MDB or NX PMI.
• Create Inspection drawings and reports in SolidWorks Inspection or NX PMI.
• Review technical drawings created by AM Aero designers for accuracy, completeness, and compliance to company and industry standards.
• Perform redlining corrections of CAD models and drawings, ensuring all modifications meet required specifications and AM Aero standards.
• Check drawings for proper use of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and adherence to general notes and datum points.
• Coordinate with design teams to ensure drawing clarity and resolve any discrepancies.
• Manage drawing, redlining, and version control within Teamcenter, maintaining organized records.

Qualifications

• Must be proficient with GD&T
• Must be able to create model based definition models (MBD) using the SolidWorks MDB module and/or NX PMI module
• Must be able to create inspection reports using the Solidworks Inspection Module and/or the NX PMI Module.
• Must be proficient with Teamcenter and SolidWorks or NX
• Demonstrated work history checking CAD models (SolidWorks or NX)
• Ability to communicate constructively and professionally with team members
• Previous CAD modeling experience required
• CMM programming a plus
• Must be a team player with strong collaborative skills
• Only United States citizens can be considered
• Must be willing to work remotely.
• Strong knowledge of MIL standards, GD&T, datum, and general engineering notes.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to spot errors and inconsistencies.
• Familiarity organizational practices within CAD systems.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with engineers and design teams.

Job location and hours

• This is a remote position. The person will remote into a company computer to access Teamcenter and CAD
• Retired persons are welcome to apply
• Corp to Corp is accepted.
• This is contract (1099) to start but can become a perm position.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Flexible but looking for 30 to 40 hours per week
