Job summary

Govan Engineering, LLC is seeking a Mechanical Designer to generate facility layout drawings and fabrication details. The role requires hands-on piping design and 3D CAD work using Autodesk Inventor to produce accurate 3D models and drawings.

You will review drawings from other team members, study project specifications, and ensure all requirements are reflected in the 3D model. Pipe sizing calculations are also part of the responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of piping design experience.
• Strong working knowledge of drafting standards and GD&T.
• Understanding of weld symbols and fabrication processes.

Responsibilities

• Generate facility layout drawings

• Experience with machine/fabrication/ welding shop techniques and methods
• Must have a good understanding of drafting standards, geometric tolerances and weld symbols.

Responsibilities In Detail

• Perform system mechanical design and create fabrication drawings
• Create 3D modes using AutoCAD inventor
• Review CAD drawing prepared by other team members
• Study PID, specifications and drawings and ensure that all requirements are taken care of in 3D model
• Pipe sizing calculations
