Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience as a Mechanical CAD Designer in aerospace/defense.
• Proficiency with CAD software; SolidWorks preferred.
• Understanding of aerospace/defense principles, materials, and manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• CAD Design: Use SolidWorks to create 3D models and drawings for aerospace/defense components.
• Collaboration: Work with engineers, PMs, and stakeholders to integrate designs.
• Design Optimization: Improve designs for performance, weight, and manufacturability while meeting standards.
• Prototyping Support: Assist prototyping and testing teams during transitions from concept to prototype.
• Documentation: Produce and maintain design specs, ECNs, and reports.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure designs meet quality, reliability, and safety standards.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry trends and best practices.

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled Mechanical CAD Designer with expertise in aerospace or defense projects to join our talented team.

We provide solutions to the Department of Defense (DoD) and Aerospace markets across various disciplines. Our BH Tech division currently provides products and services across four product lines: Advanced Systems, RF Front Ends, Mixed Signal and Digital Solutions.

Position Overview:

We are looking for a Mechanical CAD Designer who will play a key role in the design and development of advanced aerospace and defense systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, utilizing CAD software to create detailed 3D models and technical drawings for various components and systems.

Responsibilities:

• CAD Design: Utilize Solidworks to create detailed 3D models and technical drawings for aerospace and defense components and systems.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical designs into overall system architecture.
• Design Optimization: Conduct thorough analysis and optimization of mechanical designs to meet performance, weight, and manufacturing requirements while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Prototyping Support: Collaborate with the prototyping and testing teams to ensure the successful transition of designs from concept to physical prototypes, addressing any design challenges or modifications as needed.
• Documentation: Generate and maintain comprehensive documentation, including design specifications, engineering change orders, and technical reports.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure that all designs meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and safety, adhering to industry-specific regulations and customer requirements.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in aerospace and defense engineering, contributing to the continuous improvement of design processes and methodologies.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience (5-10 years) as a Mechanical CAD Designer in the aerospace or defense industry.
• Proficiency in CAD software, such as SolidWorks
• Strong understanding of aerospace and defense engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (e.g., ASME, MIL-STD).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
