Job summary

HDR, Inc. in Boise, ID is seeking a Mechanical BIM Specialist to advance the discipline model using Revit and related tools.

You will contribute to digital delivery, coordinate with Architects and Engineers, and help produce detailed drawings and diagrams for HVAC/plumbing systems. In the role of Mechanical BIM Specialist, we'll count on you to:

• Work for a specific discipline, under the direct supervision of an Architect/Engineer, or other technical professional
• Assist in the development of the discipline model, with direct supervision from the Digital Design, Architectural, or Engineering staff
• Responsible for assisting with the creation of the discipline model, systems, content, and overall digital delivery output for that discipline
• Accurately model the BIM elements in the correct special constraints of the modeling environment, using Autodesk Revit
• Prepare detailed drawings, layouts, & diagrams of the design using Autodesk Revit
• Maintain the discipline model including project information, coordinates, scales, orientations, scope boundaries, match-lines, views, and sheets
• Produce discipline specific documentation with accurate annotations on all modeling output

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's degree, CAD certificate, or technical training in drafting, engineering technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
• 2+ years of experience designing in Revit (HVAC/Plumbing).
• 2+ years experience with Autodesk Forma (ACC)
• Ability to edit Revit Families including family creation, parameter management, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with AutoCAD.
• Basic understanding of mechanical and plumbing principles, constructability, and construction documents.

Required Qualifications

• Technically qualified with 3D design software and document management infrastructure
• Competency of Microsoft Office products and communication tools
• Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational traits are essential
• Basic understanding of engineering or architectural concepts
