Job summary

CarMax is hiring a Mechanical Associate to inspect, diagnose, and repair vehicles to meet safety and performance standards. You will work with a team to address complex mechanical challenges across domestic and foreign models.

The role offers a climate-controlled facility, ongoing training, and career growth. A sign-on bonus up to $10,000 is available for external hires, with an hourly pay rate of $23.28–$41.94.

Qualifications

• Experience in engine repair, steering, suspension, brakes and HVAC systems.
• Strong understanding of health and safety compliance.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods.
• Excellent communication and attention to detail.
• Maintain ASE Certifications as listed above.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair vehicles to CarMax standards.
• Collaborate with a skilled team to solve technical challenges quickly.
• Gain hands-on experience across domestic and foreign vehicles.
• Uphold CarMax EH&S requirements and maintain a clean work area.
