Job summary

Lumafield is seeking a Mechanical Assembly Technician to assemble and test CT scanning systems at our Everett, MA facility. You’ll work hands-on with complex electromechanical assemblies, ensuring they meet factory specs and quality standards, while collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams to refine processes.

You will perform QC checks, troubleshoot, and document issues, with occasional travel to Cambridge.

Qualifications

• Assemble electro-mechanical assemblies per work instructions and CAD drawings.
• Perform QC checks using factory checklists to validate build quality.
• Test and troubleshoot CT scanning equipment to meet specs.
• Track work performed in company software tools.
• Document part and assembly issues, reworks, and configurations for traceability.
• Provide feedback to improve work instructions and processes.
• Test X-ray sources in a Manufacturing Test Bed per instructions.
• Experience with Hipot and ground continuity testing.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and operate lifting equipment safely.

About the role:

As a Mechanical Assembly Technician, you’ll play a key role in assembling and testing our CT scanning systems. You’ll work hands-on with complex electromechanical assemblies, ensuring they meet factory specifications and quality standards. You’ll collaborate closely with our engineering and manufacturing teams to refine processes, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to the evolution of our products. This position is based at our manufacturing facility in Everett, MA. Some occasional travel to our headquarters in Cambridge is necessary.

What you’ll do:

• Assemble complex electro-mechanical assemblies from detailed work instructions and also from CAD drawings
• Perform QC checks on assemblies using factory checklists to validate build quality
• Test and troubleshoot our state of the art CT scanning equipment to ensure factory specifications are met.
• Track work performed using company software tools
• Document part and assembly issues, required reworks, and machine configurations for performance traceability
• Provide feedback for improved work instructions and problems found in the manufacturing process
• Test X-ray sources in a Manufacturing Test Bed according to work instructions
• Experience with Hipot and ground continuity testing
• Perform overhead lifting operations using vacuum lifters and gantry cranes, fork lift with provided training
• Crate large scale capital equipment according to work instructions

About you:

• Flexible, Hands-on worker with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Proficient with hand and power tools including vernier calipers and torque wrenches
• Comfortable using digital tools and organizational software
• Proficient with a digital volt meter
• Experience with Hipot and ground continuity testing
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Maintain workspace conditions to facilitate cleanliness and productivity for other workspace users
• Can read and interpret mechanical part and assembly drawings and instructions
• Can lift up to 60 lbs
• Follows all safety protocol at the factory
