Job summary

Nesco Resource is seeking a Mechanical Assembly Technician for Bedford, Ohio. The role involves assembling sheet metal and mechanical components, reading blueprints, and using hand and power tools to produce quality products in a contract-to-hire setting.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in sheet metal/manufacturing, strong attention to detail, and good teamwork. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting drawings, measuring parts, and maintaining safety and organization on the shop

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or accepted.
• Prior experience in mechanical assembly/manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to read assembly drawings and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Perform general sheet metal and mechanical assembly tasks.
• Read, interpret, and work from assembly drawings and blueprints.
• Safely use basic hand and power tools (drills, impact wrenches, etc.).
• Operate overhead cranes to move materials and components.
• Accurately measure dimensions with a tape measure.
• Inspect finished work to ensure quality and conformity to specs.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow safety procedures.

With over 100 years of experience manufacturing electrical equipment, our client is one of the oldest and most widely recognized manufacturers in their industry. They are seeking a Mechanical Assembly Technician to join their team in Bedford, Ohio.

General Information

Position: Mechanical Assembly Technician
Location: Bedford, OH
Pay: $20–$22/hour, based on experience
Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire

As a Mechanical Assembly Technician, you will play an important role in building high-quality products that meet customer and company standards. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with sheet metal, mechanical assembly, and machinery, along with strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform general sheet metal assembly and mechanical assembly tasks.
• Read, interpret, and work from assembly drawings, blueprints, and technical prints.
• Safely use basic hand and power tools, including drills, impact wrenches, and other shop equipment.
• Operate overhead cranes as needed to safely move materials and components.
• Accurately measure and verify dimensions using a tape measure.
• Inspect work to ensure products meet quality and assembly specifications.
• Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.

Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience as a mechanical assembler in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Working knowledge of metal properties, mechanical components, and machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings and blueprints.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stand and remain active for the duration of the shift.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to successfully complete pre-employment drug and background screening.
