Job summary

FlexSteel Pipe in Baytown, TX is seeking capable individuals for a Mechanical Assembly Technician role with opportunities at entry and senior levels. The position involves setting up and operating equipment to manufacture flexible pipes, and performing mechanical assembly as part of the setup process.

Ideal candidates will have a High School diploma or GED with related technical training, 0-5 years of experience, and the ability to read and interpret drawings. Welding/NTD experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; technical certification or vocational training in mechanical assembly or related field is preferred.
• 0-5 years of relevant experience or related field.
• Candidates must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Proven experience in mechanical assembly and equipment operation.
• Welding and NTD experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems and assembly techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills.
• Knowledge of mechanics, metal forming, and/or extrusion equipment and processes is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate machinery used in the manufacturing of flexible pipes.
• Perform mechanical assembly operations as part of the equipment setup process.
• Conduct basic routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Collaborate with team members to meet production targets and quality standards.
• Completes required documentation records, as required, in accordance with procedures.
• Document and report any issues or discrepancies in the equipment set up, production, quality, maintenance, and any other issues encountered.
