Job summary

Northern Manufacturing Co. on 1st shift seeks a motivated individual to join our Mechanical Assembly team. You will assemble custom equipment, read prints, use hand and power tools, and support welders and fabricators.

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. on site in Oak Harbor, OH. This role offers hands-on learning, a safety-focused shop, and opportunities to grow within a global stainless fabrication leader.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in hands-on work.
• Dependable, hard-working, and willing to learn.
• Comfortable using basic hand and power tools.
• Able to follow prints, instructions, and established processes.
• Willing to take on varied tasks and work in a team.
• Manufacturing experience helpful but training provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the mechanical assembly of custom equipment, including gearboxes, motors, drums, and other components.
• Work from prints and instructions to help ensure components are installed and assembled correctly.
• Use hand tools, power tools, machines, and other shop equipment under the direction of experienced team members.
• Assist experienced welders and fabricators with fabrication and assembly projects by supplying materials, preparing parts, and completing assigned tasks.
• Perform a variety of hands-on shop work, including finishing edges, tapping holes, punching parts, cutting material, cleaning parts, and acid washing.
• Identify defective parts, equipment issues, or problems during assembly and bring them to the attention of experienced team members.
• Help maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas and outside storage areas.
• Pitch in wherever needed to help the team keep jobs moving.
