Job summary

Northern Manufacturing, a metal fabrication company in Oak Harbor, OH, is seeking a Mechanical Assembly / General Labor worker for 1st shift. You will assemble custom equipment, read prints, and support experienced welders and fabricators in varied shop projects.

Expected to work Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m., with opportunities to learn and grow in a challenging, hands-on environment. We offer comprehensive benefits and a safety-focused team culture.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and an interest in hands-on work.
• Ability to follow prints, instructions, and established processes.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the mechanical assembly of custom equipment, including gearboxes, motors, drums, and other components.
• Work from prints and instructions to ensure components are installed and assembled correctly.
• Use hand tools, power tools, machines, and other shop equipment under the guidance of experienced team members.
• Assist welders and fabricators with fabrication and assembly by supplying materials and completing tasks.
• Perform hands-on shop work such as finishing edges, tapping holes, punching parts, cutting material, cleaning parts, and acid washing.
• Identify defective parts or issues and report to experienced team members.
• Help maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas and storage areas.
• Pitch in wherever needed to keep jobs moving.

Northern Manufacturing is a custom metal fabrication company located in Oak Harbor, Ohio. We manufacture complex, custom-fabricated products for customers across a variety of industries. Our work varies from one job to the next, giving our employees the opportunity to work on challenging projects and continually build their skills.

Northern Manufacturing is looking for a motivated, hard-working individual to join our Mechanical Assembly team on 1st shift.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.

If you're mechanically inclined, enjoy working with your hands, and like a job where you're not doing the exact same thing every day, this could be a great opportunity. You'll work alongside experienced team members assembling custom-fabricated equipment and helping with a variety of shop projects.

What You'll Do

• Assist with the mechanical assembly of custom equipment, including gearboxes, motors, drums, and other components.
• Work from prints and instructions to help ensure components are installed and assembled correctly.
• Use hand tools, power tools, machines, and other shop equipment under the direction of experienced team members.
• Assist experienced welders and fabricators with fabrication and assembly projects by supplying materials, preparing parts, and completing assigned tasks.
• Perform a variety of hands-on shop work, including finishing edges, tapping holes, punching parts, cutting material, cleaning parts, and acid washing.
• Identify defective parts, equipment issues, or problems during assembly and bring them to the attention of experienced team members.
• Help maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas and outside storage areas.
• Pitch in wherever needed to help the team keep jobs moving.

The pay range for this role is:

17 - 19 USD per hour (Northern Manufacturing Co. )
