Responsibilities

  • Assemble mechanical components, pumps, subassemblies per drawings and work instructions.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and assembly instructions.
  • Use hand and power tools, measuring tools and equipment.
  • Install, align, fit, and secure components and assemblies.
  • Measure components and verify dimensions with precision tools.
  • Inspect completed assemblies for fit, alignment, and quality.
  • Identify and report defective or improper components.
  • Follow assembly procedures, schedules, and quality requirements.

Job Details: Job Location: Sugar Land, TX 77478, Mako Industries is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Mechanical Assembler to join our manufacturing team in Waller, Texas. The Mechanical Assembler will be responsible for assembling, fitting, and preparing industrial pump components and equipment according to engineering specifications, drawings, work instructions, and established quality standards.

The ideal candidate has mechanical aptitude, strong attention to detail, and experience working with hand and power tools in a manufacturing, industrial, mechanical, or equipment assembly environment. This position requires the ability to read and follow instructions, work safely, maintain quality standards, and effectively collaborate with other members of the production team.

  • Assemble mechanical components, pumps, subassemblies, and related equipment according to engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and assembly instructions.
  • Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and mechanical equipment.
  • Install, align, fit, and secure mechanical components and assemblies.
  • Measure components and verify dimensions using appropriate precision measuring tools.
  • Inspect completed assemblies to ensure proper fit, alignment, function, and quality.
  • Identify and report defective, damaged, or improperly fitting components.
  • Perform adjustments, repairs, or rework as required to meet quality and production standards.
  • Follow established assembly procedures, production schedules, and quality requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
  • Work effectively with supervisors, engineers, quality personnel, and other production team members.
  • Complete required production documentation and inspection records accurately.
  • Operate lifting equipment or material-handling equipment as authorized and trained.
  • Assist with other manufacturing and assembly activities as needed.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous mechanical assembly, industrial manufacturing, pump assembly, equipment assembly, or related experience preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to understand how mechanical components fit and function together.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical components, fasteners, fittings, shafts, bearings, seals, and related equipment is a plus.
  • Ability to accurately measure components and verify dimensions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a team.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and work in a manufacturing environment for extended periods.
  • Ability to safely lift and move materials as required by the position.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Experience assembling industrial pumps, rotating equipment, motors, machinery, or other mechanical equipment.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, fabrication, or machine-shop environment.
  • Familiarity with precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Experience working from engineering drawings or detailed assembly instructions.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical alignment and equipment installation.
  • Previous experience with quality inspection procedures.
  • Forklift, crane, rigging, or other material-handling experience is a plus.
Work Environment
  • Full-time position located onsite in Waller, Texas.
  • Manufacturing and industrial production environment.
  • Employee may be exposed to moving equipment, machinery, noise, dust, oils, and other typical manufacturing conditions.
  • Appropriate PPE is required and will be provided in accordance with company policy.
  • Must be willing to work scheduled hours and overtime as required by production needs.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and work in various positions.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and components within the requirements of the position.
