General Kinematics in Crystal Lake, IL seeks a qualified Machine Builder/Assembler to join our team. This role is responsible for the assembling and startup of all equipment, ensuring parts meet specifications, and coordinating with customers and internal teams.

You will read blueprints, use tools, operate cranes and lifting devices, and perform tests to validate assembly. A reliable, detail‑oriented worker with good communication and safety practices fits well with our high‑volume,

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum three years related work experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical ability with blueprint reading.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and operate lifting devices.
• Good communication and teamwork.

Responsabilidades

• Fits and assembles machinery components according to assembly blueprints, manuals, engineering memos, sketches, and knowledge of machine construction to construct, rebuild, and repair machines and equipment.
• Operate jib, overhead crane, air/hand-powered tools, and forklift.
• Problem solve assembly issues and determine workable solutions.
• Adapt to a fast-paced, high mix/low volume fabrication shop.
• Measure with tape, calipers, radius gauges, go/no-go gauges.
• Measure in feet and inches to 1/31” with a standard tape measure.
• Record production and inspection activities in computer-based systems.
• Follow proper lifting techniques.
• Conduct test runs and adjust parts to meet specifications.
• Understand and follow company procedures.
