Job description

Performs a variety of operations to assemble mechanical components, sub-assemblies, and sheet metal enclosures. Works with assembly prints, wiring diagrams, and schematics to assemble drawers, chassis, enclosures, and racks. Handles complex assignments requiring judgment and initiative to resolve problems and make recommendations. Determines and follows methods and sequences of operations in hand soldering, wire harnessing, and cabling on assembly units.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Performing repair work as necessary.
  2. Conducting routine go/no-go tests of circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies.
  3. Setting up test devices using hand tools or automatic test methods.
  4. Documenting test results and maintaining logs of malfunctions.
  5. Performing other duties as needed.

Requirements:

  • Production experience with vocational training in mechanical assembly.
  • Reading, writing, and basic arithmetic skills.
  • Ability to work from established drawings and experience in soldering, wire-wrapping, and cable harnessing.
  • Proficiency with hand tools and testing equipment.
  • Year of production and vocational assembly experience or related work experience.
  • Knowledge of electronic components placement, polarity, and circuit board assembly with SMT machines.
  • Understanding of IPC standards for quality assurance.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Physical ability to perform required tasks; forklift operation not required.

Skills and Technologies:

  • SMT machine operation with electronic components placement.
  • Reading schematics and drawings.
  • Knowledge of component polarity and IPC standards.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience with Siemens or ASM machines, Ekra pastes print, AOI preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Teams.
