Job summary

Wabtec Corporation seeks a hands-on assembler for our Columbia, SC area production team. The role focuses on assembling and disassembling components using hand and power tools, following detailed work instructions and safety procedures to ensure quality and efficiency.

Expect a Monday-Thursday shift from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm with variations communicated at hire. Candidates should have a light industrial or mechanical background and be able to lift up to 50 lbs, working in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

• Light industrial or mechanical background is required.
• 3–5 years of mechanical background and skill with operating tools.
• Ability to read, write and perform basic arithmetic.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Follow assembly instructions, processes and procedures.
• Assemble components by checking fit and fastening parts.
• Disassemble components using hand and power tools.
• Clean and buff components and wash them as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe 5S workplace and follow SOPs/JSAs.
• Work on a Monday-Thursday 6am-4:30pm schedule and adapt as needed.
