Job summary

Fives North American Combustion, Inc. in Cleveland, OH, is seeking a Mechanical Assembler specialist to join our team.

You will build custom combustion fuel flow control trains, assemble piping and instrumentation, and wire electrical components per mechanical blueprints and electrical schematics. You will pull parts from inventory, work with purchasing on missing items, and perform testing, documentation, and general inventory tasks.

Qualifications

• Experience building custom valve and pipe trains from assemblies.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and electrical schematics.
• Experience using basic electric/pneumatic hand tools and small machinery.

• Comply with company safety regulations and maintain a clean and orderly work area


• Adhere to quality standards, ensuring assemblies meet or exceed requirements


• Build custom combustion fuel flow control trains, consisting of piping, valves, and instrumentation


• Pull parts from inventory based on bills of material and work with purchasing to resolve missing parts


• Assemble mechanical and electrical aspects per mechanical blueprints and electrical schematics


• Pipe sizes vary from 1" threaded to 8" welded spools requiring use of overhead cranes to manuver


• Fabricate and install tubing to support mechanical instruments


• Wire electrical instruments to electrical junction boxes


• Conduct pressure testing of final assembly


• Prepare manufacturing and testing reports


• Document changes and corrections to any and all drawings, descriptions, bills of material, etc.


• Perform general inventory management functions as needed, including receiving and shipping tasks


• Other duties as assigned

• Ability to understand detailed mechanical layout drawings and electrical schematic drawings


• Mechanical aptitude required to recognize design issues before they become rework


• Experience using basic electric/pneumatic hand tools and small machinery (drill presses, punches)


• Experience using overhead cranes and hoists


• Experience using a tow motor


• Experience using MS Word, Excel, and Outlook


• Experience using ERP/MRP (SAP) software applications
