Overview

Are you looking for a position where YOU are appreciated as a team member? If you are a mid level Assembler we have an open position. This opportunity performs a wide variety of assembly operations to create precision electro-mechanical, electronic assemblies and sub-assemblies. Follows method and sequence of operations in performing such tasks as wiring, component installation, hand soldering and cable harnessing. The ideal candidate will have cable assembly or wire harnessing experience and a solid background in mechanical assembly.

Please note this is a 2nd shift position and will be eligible for a 10% shift differential.

Responsibilities
  • Assembles electronic components, assemblies, subassemblies and modules by working from samples, visual aids, prints, routing instructions and process sheets using appropriate tooling and machinery.
  • Assembles parts using solder, fasteners and adhesives in the build-up of electronic assemblies.
  • Verifies results to ensure conformance with requirements and performs rework as needed.
  • Performs mechanical assembly operations in the build of electronic assemblies using standard measuring tools and techniques.
  • Bonding and honing (sanding, polishing, and grit blasting) of parts in preparation of installing and finishing assembly. Cleaning parts and electronic assemblies per Work Instructions.
  • Ability to perform all tasks with minimum supervision and make sound decisions regarding the troubleshooting of complex production issues and or recommending a path forward to resolve such issues.
  • Ability to guide less experienced assemblers as necessary to gain the necessary skills to be successful.
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma (or equivalent)
  • 2 years’ experience working as an assembler building products
  • 2 years’ soldering experience (JStandard)
  • Able to interpret and understand instructions on process sheets, prints or route cards and technical drawings (i.e. ECO’s, parts lists and PRN’s).
  • Ability to use hand tools (pliers, forming tools, torque wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.)
  • Ability to use measurement tools such as scales, micrometers and calipers.
  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a “US Person” under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Assembly experience in a defense contractor, aerospace, or the military environment with an emphasis on antenna products preferable.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Soldering experience should be current; current JCERT preferable
  • Ability to produce fixturing if necessary for prototype and pre-production applications.
  • 4-6 years experience working as an assembler

Must achieve specified solder certification in various assembly/soldering techniques per Company and customer standards and perform basic hand soldering tasks.

Salary Range: Assembler II $18.52 - $25.95 per hour; Assembler III $20.41 - $29.62. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as business results.
