RTX Collins Aerospace in Jamestown, ND seeks a Mechanical Assembler 2 to ensure the assembly and quality of mechanical products. You will work onsite, read blueprints, use hand tools and measuring equipment, and maintain a safe workspace while meeting production goals.

Responsibilities

• Maintain inventory of products at stations to ensure smooth workflow and availability of materials.
• Perform quality checks on assembled products and record defects.
• Rework and repair assembled equipment based on engineering changes.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area following procedures and standards.
• Support customer demands by completing tasks accurately and on time.
• Ability to stand up to 9 hours per day.

What You Will Do

• As a Mechanical Assembler 2, you will play a key role in ensuring the assembly and quality of mechanical products, contributing to the success of our operations team.
• You will work onsite in a dynamic environment, utilizing your skills to meet production goals and maintain high standards of quality and safety.
• Read, interpret, and follow blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of materials to complete assembly tasks.
• Operate hand tools, air tools, hand cutters, measuring equipment, and light equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain inventory of products in workstations to ensure smooth workflow and availability of materials.
• Perform quality checks on assembled products, identifying and recording any defects.
• Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products based on engineering specification changes.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhering to established safety procedures and quality standards.
• Support customer demands by completing tasks accurately and on time.
• Ability to work in a standing position for up to 9 hours per day.

Qualifications – You Must Have

• Typicaly requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, and specifications.
• Experience operating hand tools, air tools, and measuring equipment.

Qualifications – We Prefer

• Prior assembly experience in a production environment.
• Basic computer knowledge to support work processes.
• Experience using hand and power tools for assembly tasks.
• Ability to identify product defects and perform rework or repairs.
• Experience functioning productively as part of a team to meet operational goals.
