Mechanical Assembler

Salary: £32,500 per annum (£16.90 per hour)

Location: 10-minute drive from Uxbridge, Middlesex

Hours: Mon–Thurs 08:00–17:00 / Fri 08:00–Midday (37 hours per week)

Start Date: ASAP

Type: Permanent

This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly regarded engineering manufacturer near Uxbridge, assembling high-quality mechanical systems for a range of precision-engineered applications. As a key member of the assembly team, you’ll work from detailed technical drawings to build complex mechanical sub-assemblies, using a range of high-precision tools and components.

Mechanical Assembler Benefits:

  • Overtime at £25.30 p/h (available Mon–Fri early mornings and Friday afternoons, plus weekends)

Mechanical Assembler Responsibilities:
  • Assembling complex mechanical sub-assemblies using M3+ bolts and precision components
  • Reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings
  • Using a range of hand tools: ratchets, sockets, torque wrenches, hex keys, screwdrivers, pliers, etc.
  • Conducting self-inspections to maintain top-quality standards
  • Logging work and tracking progress through MRP/ERP systems (SAP)
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in mechanical assembly within a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Comfortable using hand tools for precise mechanical work
  • Excellent understanding of engineering drawings and build procedures
  • Basic computer literacy and familiarity with MRP/ERP software (SAP ideal)
