Job summary

Godfrey & Wing is seeking a Mechanical Assembler III to join our advanced manufacturing team. You will interpret engineering drawings, build complex assemblies, and support field installations, ensuring high quality and safety standards.

The role requires hands-on fabrication, welding, piping and hydraulics experience, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while meeting deadlines at customer sites.

Qualifications

• Years of mechanical assembly or related technical experience.
• Ability to read mechanical blueprints, P&IDs, and schematics.
• Welding capabilities (MIG/TIG).
• Experience with pipe fitting, pumps, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs and work in varying environments.
• Ability to operate forklift, scissors lift, and cranes.

Responsibilities

• Assemble complex mechanical systems and subassemblies according to drawings and documentation.
• Support field installations and customer site support.
• Fabricate and install piping, valves, tanks, pumps, and structural supports.
• Perform MIG/TIG welding and grinding as necessary.
• Interpret and troubleshoot mechanical systems and resolve build issues.
• Coordinate with electrical and controls teams for integration.
• Conduct functional testing and final quality inspections.
• Maintain strict adherence to safety protocol.

The Mechanical Assembler III is an advanced-level technician responsible for assembling complex mechanical systems and subassemblies. This role requires the ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, take ownership of complete builds, troubleshoot mechanical systems, and support installations with minimal supervision. The Mechanical Assembler III works independently, collaborates with cross-functional teams, and ensures systems meet quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble complex mechanical systems and subassemblies according to engineering drawings and technical documentation
• Support the mechanical assembly function during field installations and customer site support
• Fabricate and install piping, valves, tanks, pumps, and structural supports u

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Demonstrated years of mechanical assembly, fabrication, or related technical experience
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical blueprints, P&IDs, and schematics
• Skilled welding capabilities (ability to weld for overhead lifting)
• Experienced in pipe fitting, pumps, pneumatic systems, and hydraulics
• Excellent problem-solving abilities, keen attention to detail, and positive attitude
• Capable of working independently with minimal supervision and managing deadlines
• Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, working in hot/cold environments, and carrying tools up/down ladders
• Ability to safely use forklift, scissors lift, and cranes
