Job summary

Modula USA is seeking a Mechanical Assembler to safely and efficiently assemble structural and mechanical components, meeting specifications for our automated storage systems.

You will read blueprints, follow BOM and drawings, assemble parts with proper fit and alignment, and support continuous improvement; candidates need at least two years in manufacturing and a high school diploma. The role is on-site at our Ohio facilities with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two (2) years of relative experience required, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • High school diploma or its equivalent; vocational education in a related field preferred; a combination of education and experience can be considered
  • Understanding of the manufacturing industry is essential
  • Must have a working knowledge and be proficient in reading blue prints, measurements, and tolerances

Responsibilities

  • Layout and construct various product assemblies with minimal supervision according to blueprints or specifications, using the proper tools and equipment
  • Read and follow assembly specifications, bills of material and drawing sets, and identify discrepancies. Break down assembly drawings and specifications, and plan the successive steps of fabricating and assembling mechanical parts and units
  • Assemble parts according to print including fitment, alignment and adjustment. Ensuring mechanisms are free from binding or interference and function properly, and diagnosis and repair of improper mechanical assembly or operation
  • Perform all duties in a safe manner; support all safety and environmental rules and environmental initiatives
  • Participate in initiatives to provide ongoing continuous improvement ideas for products, process, and procedures
  • Work in other areas of the factory as may be required
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Basic Functions and Scope of Job:

The purpose of the Mechanical Assembler is to safely and efficiently assemble structural and mechanical components with the goal of producing our quality products that meets specifications.

Requirements

This role is pivotal in supporting production efforts. The individual in this position must have a high degree of integrity, resourcefulness, and professionalism in working with colleagues and clients. Relationship building, customer service, and the ability to follow up in a timely manner are critical for success. The ideal candidate will have relative experience, excellent communication and time management skills, and manufacturing aptitude.

Work Environment (Position / % of time per day or frequency):

Walking / Occasional Standing / Frequent Sitting / Occasional Twisting, turning, and Squatting / Occasional Climbing / Occasional (stepladder) Hand Tools, Power Tools, Pneumatic Tools / Frequent Pulling, Pushing / Up to 150 lbs. (using pallet jack) Lifting / Up to 50 lbs.
