Job summary

ProMach is seeking a talented mechanical assembler to assemble complex and precision mechanical assemblies and intricate mechanisms to build a quality product. The role requires interpreting engineering prints and ensuring components meet strict specifications.

You will use hand and power tools, perform final inspection, and assist with testing before shipment. This on-site position reports to Production Supervisor and offers competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

  • Read and interpret engineering prints/specifications to determine necessary assembly of machine components.
  • Able to build and wire small electrical controls and motors on equipment.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.

  • Plan assembly procedures and methods to assure efficient and timely progress.
  • Assemble complex mechanical units requiring precision and accuracy to meet specifications.
  • Position, align, level, and fit sub-assemblies and components; calibrate and test as needed.
  • Test machines using prescribed methods to verify performance before shipment and assist in customer Acceptance Tests.
  • Inspect parts for finish and dimensions; use precision instruments to verify tolerances.

The machinery has critical dimensional specifications and operating relationships where fitting of components, calibration of operating units, alignment and/or balancing of completed assemblies requires the application of skilled mechanical principles and a broad knowledge of assembly techniques. The Assembly Technicianassistswith final inspection and testing of machinery to ensure equipment meets performancestandardand requirements. The position reports to the Production/Field Service Supervisor.

Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret engineering prints/specifications, electrical schematics, manufacturing manuals, and/or verbal/written instructions todeterminenecessary assembly of machine

  • Be able to build and wire small electrical controls and motors on our equipment

  • Plan assembly procedures and methods toassureefficient andtimelyprogress. May transport specified parts from various plant locations

  • Assemble complex mechanical units where a high degree of problem-solving and extreme care, skilled workmanship, and accuracy arerequiredto meet strict inspection,testingand operating specifications

  • Position, erect, align, level; position sub-assemblies, units, and separates components and integrate their operations; performs fitting, aligning, timing, calibrating, and other operations incidental to the mechanical assembly of the machine.

  • Tests machines using prescribed testing methods to help ensure machine meets performance requirements before shipment to customer.Assistcustomers with in-plant Acceptance Testsoftheir machines.

  • Use a variety of hand and power tools

  • Inspect parts for proper machining finish and dimensions; checks sub-assemblies and units

  • Use a variety of precision measuring and gauging instrumentse.g.scale, calipers, etc., to inspect and verify conformance of parts to specifications/tolerances

  • Strictly follows all safety requirements for hand and power tool operation, the assembly of parts, forklift and hoist operation, and housekeeping

  • Performs location installation,start up, service and repair operations on products manufactured by the company

  • Performs skilled fitting

  • Trains customer personnel in all aspects of operation and maintenance of the machine

  • Writes detailed andtimelyservice reports

  • Recordsaccurateset up data to the equipment manuals

Compensation range: $24-$26/hr
