The Village Companies – MCL Industries Division seeks a Mechanical Assembler to build and assemble mechanical and electromechanical products to customer specifications.

Qualifications

Responsibilities
- Assemble mechanical and electromechanical products per specifications.
- Read, understand, and follow work instructions, engineering drawings, BOMs, assembly documentation, and other production requirements.
- Use hand tools, power tools, fixtures, hoists, and other assembly equipment safely and effectively.
- Perform tasks that may include fastening, drilling, cutting, fitting, aligning, measuring, and installing components.
- Complete assembly operations within established production standards while maintaining quality and safety expectations.
- Learn and perform multiple assembly processes and product builds based on production and customer needs.
- Maintain accurate production records and documentation as required.

Schedule: Monday–Thursday 5:00am–3:30pm
Pay Range: $18.00-20.00 per hour based on experience

The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling mechanical and electromechanical products and components in accordance with customer specifications, engineering drawings, work instructions, and MCL quality standards. This position utilizes a variety of hand tools, power tools, assembly equipment, measuring devices, and material-handling equipment to complete assigned work safely, accurately, and efficiently.
As part of a contract manufacturing environment, the Mechanical Assembler must be flexible and willing to learn multiple products, processes, and customer requirements. This position is expected to contribute to achieving safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery goals while supporting continuous improvement initiatives throughout the manufacturing operation.
- Perform mechanical and electromechanical assembly of products, components, and subassemblies according to established specifications.
- Read, understand, and follow work instructions, engineering drawings, bills of material (BOMs), assembly documentation, and other production requirements.
- Use hand tools, power tools, fixtures, hoists, and other assembly equipment safely and effectively.
- Perform tasks that may include fastening, drilling, cutting, fitting, aligning, measuring, and installing components.
- Complete assembly operations within established production standards while maintaining quality and safety expectations.
- Learn and perform multiple assembly processes and product builds based on production and customer needs.
- Verify that the correct parts, components, materials, and hardware are being used throughout the assembly process.
- Identify and communicate material shortages, production issues, equipment concerns, or other conditions that may impact production.
- Maintain accurate production records and documentation as required.
- Assist with packaging, material handling, and other production-related activities as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area using established housekeeping and 5S practices.
- Understand and follow applicable quality procedures, customer specifications, and ISO requirements.
- Inspect completed work to verify products meet established specifications and quality standards.
- Utilize appropriate measuring and inspection equipment to verify dimensions, tolerances, fit, and functionality.
- Identify, document, and communicate nonconforming materials, components, or finished products.
- Follow established procedures, work instructions, and manufacturing processes consistently.
- Identify and communicate opportunities to improve safety, quality, productivity, workflow, and cost.
- Participate in continuous improvement, Lean manufacturing, 5S, and waste-reduction activities.
- Be receptive to changes in processes, procedures, equipment, and work methods.
- Collaborate with team members and leadership to improve manufacturing processes and resolve production challenges

- Previous mechanical assembly, manufacturing, fabrication, or related production experience preferred.
- Lean manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement experience is a plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to learn new assembly processes.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal work instructions.
- Ability to interpret basic engineering drawings, assembly drawings, and specifications.
- Ability to understand basic measurements and manufacturing tolerances.
- Ability to safely and effectively use hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to identify problems and communicate concerns to appropriate team members or leadership.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.

- Safety equipment: Safety glasses, bump hats, hearing protection as required, and cut resistant gloves as required
- Steel toes are required
- Required to use a hoist for lifting heavy objects (training provided)
- Required to use power equipment like drills and cut-off wheels heavy duty tooling/equipment
- 100% - Manufacturing environment; clean, low to moderate noise, safety glasses required and other personal protective equipment where applicable
