Job description

We are seeking a motivated Mechanical and/or Electrical Designer with experience designing HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, electrical power, lighting, or low-voltage systems. This individual will primarily be responsible for the development of drawings of building systems either independently or based on input from other team members. Depending on qualifications, the candidate may also serve as the BIM coordinator for assigned projects. Candidates of all experience levels will be considered, but proficiency with Autodesk Revit software and understanding of building systems (mechanical, electrical, or both) will be required for the position. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and skills, and the listed values are an expected starting range.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• Design/Modeling of HVAC system components (ductwork, piping, equipment, details, etc.)
• Design/Modeling of plumbing system components (piping, fixtures, equipment, details, etc.)
• Design/Modeling of fire protection system components (piping, equipment, details, etc.)
• Design/Modeling of lighting system components (fixtures, controls, circuiting, details, etc.)
• Design/Modeling of electrical power system components (electrical gear, circuiting, details, etc.)
• Design/Modeling of low-voltage system components (fire alarm, communications, access control, security, audio/video, etc.)
• Use of Autodesk Revit software to document new and existing building systems
• Production of drawings using Revit software
• Coordination of Revit Models with internal team members and external team members (typically architecture firms)

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• Associate degree in related area or Autodesk Revit Certification(s)
• Minimum of one year of experience designing/modeling systems for buildings
• Experience with design of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, lighting, electrical power, or low-voltage systems
• Experience with design software packages (Revit, BIM360, and AutoCAD)
• Ability to work effectively with other team members and clients
