Job summary

Aerosapien Technologies LLC is seeking a Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering Intern to assist with engineering, manufacturing, and procurement activities in a collaborative setting. You will review drawings, prepare BOMs, source parts, and support RFQ processes to ensure technical and cost objectives are met.

The role emphasizes CAD tool familiarity, attention to detail, and the ability to work across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and quality teams in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes is expected.
• Familiarity with GD&T and ASME Y14.5 is preferred.
• Knowledge of CAD software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, or Creo is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong analytical/communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret mechanical and aerospace engineering drawings.
• Understand dimensions, tolerances, materials, finishes, and drawing notes.
• Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) from drawings and assemblies.
• Identify raw materials, machined parts, sheet-metal components, fasteners, hardware, and COTS items.
• Source components and materials from qualified suppliers and manufacturers.
• Prepare RFQs, obtain quotations, and compare pricing, lead times, and technical compliance.
• Verify sourced components against drawing and engineering requirements.
• Support engineering changes, BOM revisions, and technical documentation updates.
• Review CAD models, STEP files, and related manufacturing documentation.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and quality teams.
• Support manufacturing processes including machining, laser cutting, bending, welding, and assembly.
