Mechanic Welder I

Your responsibilities

  • Promote a safety first culture by active participation at safety toolbox meetings, continuous evaluation of work site for potential hazards or unsafe actions, use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate to the site or work to be performed and report near misses, accidents or injuries (no matter the severity) and identify unsafe equipment/work per company guidelines or procedures
  • Carries out a variety of site activities with particular focus on the following tasks:
    • Grinding - hand grind seams, edges, and surface clean-up for weld prep
    • Welding - inner shield and stick of primarily carbon and stainless-steel plates/shapes to a specific code and/or specification
    • Gouging - welding seams and removing hardware
    • Cutting - steel parts with oxy-acetylene torch
    • Carrying and lifting tools, equipment, and various parts
  • Adhere to company policies, work procedures, guidelines and job site analysis
  • Attends any required training classes, including but not limited to specialized training and provide opportunities to develop field personnel
  • Perform special assignments and additional tasks as assigned
