Requirements
- Must have the ability to select weld fabrication work assigned by Production Supervisor and/or General Manager using qualified weld processes, such as Mig, Tig, and Stick welding.
Responsibilities
- Prepare parts for welding as indicated by engineering drawings and/or sketches, which may require cutting and grinding.
- Follow established weld fabrication procedures.
- Perform all work assigned by Management.
- Maintain a high standard of quality.
- Achieve acceptable quality welds, including bead appearance and pressure-tight welds. Avoid defects like undercutting, excessive weld penetration, porosity, lack of fusion, etc.
- Learn and interpret engineering drawings with guidance from Supervisors and/or General Manager.
- Follow weld procedures and use measuring instruments for layout work.
- Use instrumentation to inspect completed work.
- Understand basic metal types and suitable filler materials for welding.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- At least 1 year of welding experience.
Physical Demands
- Frequently walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, bend, and kneel.
- Frequently push, pull, move, or lift up to 100 lbs.
- Regularly reach with hands and arms.
Work will be conducted in our metal fabricating shop or on plant property.
