Requirements

• Must have the ability to select weld fabrication work assigned by Production Supervisor and/or General Manager using qualified weld processes, such as Mig, Tig, and Stick welding.

Responsibilities

• Prepare parts for welding as indicated by engineering drawings and/or sketches, which may require cutting and grinding.
• Follow established weld fabrication procedures.
• Perform all work assigned by Management.
• Maintain a high standard of quality.
• Achieve acceptable quality welds, including bead appearance and pressure-tight welds. Avoid defects like undercutting, excessive weld penetration, porosity, lack of fusion, etc.
• Learn and interpret engineering drawings with guidance from Supervisors and/or General Manager.
• Follow weld procedures and use measuring instruments for layout work.
• Use instrumentation to inspect completed work.
• Understand basic metal types and suitable filler materials for welding.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of welding experience.

Physical Demands

• Frequently walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, bend, and kneel.
• Frequently push, pull, move, or lift up to 100 lbs.
• Regularly reach with hands and arms.

Work will be conducted in our metal fabricating shop or on plant property.
