The Mechanic works under the direction of the Chief Mechanic or Rig Maintenance Supervisor and be responsible for the maintenance and repair of the rig mechanical equipment and systems. The Mechanic ensures all preventative and corrective maintenance is completed within the required timescale and in accordance with the maintenance management set out by the Chief Mechanic or other Rig Maintenance Supervisor and in compliance with Borr Drilling Policies and Procedures. The Mechanic is responsible for ensuring all mechanical equipment remains functional throughout operations so as to minimize downtime.# # **Responsibilities*** Safely and efficiently perform all duties assigned by the Chief Mechanic or Rig Maintenance Supervisor* Ensure all operations are carried out in a safe and conscientious manner and responsible for correcting or notifying responsible persons of any unsafe acts and/or conditions which exist* Actively participate in and contribute to pre-shift and Toolbox Talk meetings; Observation program, weekly or special operations safety meetings and ensure any concerns or issues are reported appropriately* Demonstrate a personal commitment to Borr Drilling’s QHSE Management System; ensure compliance with Safe Systems of Work (SSOW), i.e. Risk Assessments etc.* Thorough knowledge and utilization of Company’s Integrity Management System, responsible to ensure understanding and application of updates, changes and working instructions* Carry out all maintenance and repair activities of mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment onboard the rig to ensure the execution of planned and unplanned maintenance is carried out in accordance with the Company’s Maintenance Management Plan* Assist the Chief Mechanic or Rig Maintenance Supervisor in planning the look ahead in accordance with future operations and any mechanical maintenance activities, and carry out regular inspections in accordance with Company Policies and Procedures* Update the rig’s Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), maintenance and rig documentation records to ensure all actions are carried out and completed in a timely manner and in accordance with Borr Drilling policies and procedures to minimize potential downtime for electrical maintenance activities* Ensure all lock-out-tag-out procedures are followed, trapped energy released and all hazards and risks are identified prior to starting work on any mechanical equipment* Responsible for diagnostic tests and troubleshooting system faults and failures of mechanical equipment and systems onboard the rig* Assist Chief Mechanic or Rig Maintenance Supervisor with third party equipment inspections as required* Assist Chief Mechanic or Rig Maintenance Supervisor in all emergency situations as directed by the operations manual, emergency response plan and the Station Bill* Ensure care and routine maintenance of all tools and equipment provided for company use and return all equipment to proper storage location and service/replace as necessary* Maintain housekeeping and appearance in general areas of the rig: specifically, but not limited to, Engine & Auxiliary Engine Rooms, Control Rooms, HVAC Rooms, HPU rooms, Mechanical Work Shops and Storage areas* Ensure that entries on permits, isolation tags and logs accurately reflect the current status of equipment* Ensure clear and comprehensive handovers are communicated to relief personnel* Support, encourage and mentor subordinates to ensure they have the skills and opportunity to build job specific competencies and complete training requirements* Personally achieve and maintain required standards for own training and competency requirements for job role* Perform other duties, complete additional tasks and support ad hoc projects as required Work with assigned assessor to complete Borr Competence Management System “BCAMS” and where necessary, identify any areas for development. Provide demonstrable evidence to complement the assessor outcomes# # **Qualifications and Experience*** Vocational Mechanical Qualification or equivalent experience at Company’s discretion* Offshore Medical Certificate* BOSIET OPITO (or equivalent)* Fast Rescue Boat (station bill specific)Experience* Relevant oilfield experience in similar capacity* Experience of mechanical maintenance operations on offshore drilling units or marine equipment* Effective communication skills: Fluency in written and spoken English required* Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and to follow directions* Ability to understand and interpret line diagrams and technical drawings* Ability to anticipate potential hazards and problems and act before they occur to minimize risk* Working knowledge of QHSE practices common to the industry and the company* Familiar with application of the QHSE Management System and continuous improvement* Complete understanding and use of the Borr Drilling Maintenance System
