Job summary

Silgan Containers in Modesto, CA is hiring Mechanics to diagnose and repair mechanical systems on our can-making lines. You'll operate and maintain industrial equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, using precision tools to meet tight tolerances, and support continuous production.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical systems to keep production lines running.
• Operate and maintain can making machinery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Use calipers and micrometers to measure within tight tolerances.
• Monitor product quality and production efficiency.
• Learn and troubleshoot new components using manuals and diagrams.
• Operate forklifts safely when needed.
• Contribute improvement ideas for safety, quality, and productivity.

Your Schedule

• Work 4 days on, 4 days off, 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM
• Monday through Friday, 2nd 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm
• 3rd shift 11:00 to 6:30 am

• Monitor product quality and production efficiency to ensure smooth operation.
• Utilize mechanical manuals and diagrams to learn and troubleshoot new components.
• Operate forklifts safely and efficiently when needed.
• Contribute improvement ideas for the work area, safety, quality, cost control, and productivity.

We Need You To Have

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalency.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Willingness to operate and maintain Silgan's can lines by performing and documenting quality checks.
