Job summary

ProPetro Services, Inc is seeking a Mechanic Trainee to learn and perform basic maintenance on frac equipment under a mentor. You will gain hands-on experience in safety-focused maintenance and documentation while developing skills toward becoming a Shop Mechanic 1.

The role emphasizes learning in field operations, adhering to HSE policies, and building proficiency through hands-on skill evaluations and periodic assessments.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent, required; technical or associate’s degree, preferred.
• Must be able to communicate effectively and record work in English.
• Maintaining a current and valid driver’s license and a clean driving record, required.

Responsibilities

• Work with a mentor to learn basic maintenance tasks on frac equipment.
• Develop proficiency in common maintenance tasks under supervision.
• Attend field operations with guidance from experienced staff when needed.
• Participate in skills management, level assessments, and mentorship initiatives.
• Complete hands-on skill evaluations and progress toward Shop Mechanic 1.
• Maintain cleanliness and safe handling of company property and PPE, following HSE policies.

Summary

Job Description:

The Mechanic Trainee is an entry level role that operates in learning first mode. This role will work alongside a mentor to develop the skills and understanding needed to safely and efficiently maintain and repair ProPetro frac equipment. This person will spend time learning the basic functions of each maintenance group.

Responsibilities

• Works alongside mentor, maintenance personnel, and Learning and Development Team to gain proficiency in the common Maintenance tasks under frequent supervision.
• Works in learning mode, with a mentor or leveled technicians.
• This employee must be accompanied and monitored if attending field operation sites.
• Consistently participate in the skills management program, level assessments, and mentorship initiatives.
• Works to complete hands-on skill evaluations and developmental competencies to promote to Shop Mechanic 1.
• Capable of performing general housekeeping and routine maintenance of Company property.
• Maintain compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies by attending all required HSE training sessions, safety meetings, and always utilizing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe driving practices.
• Other duties as assigned.
