Description

JOB PURPOSE: To ensure the safe operation and maintenance of all rides and attractions.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain, erect, repair and troubleshoot rides and attractions to ensure their safe and efficient operation with minimum supervision.
• Keep a ride parts inventory and notify the supervisor and A Mechanics of any parts or materials necessary to ensure safe, continuous operation.
• Direct, advise and/or work in conjunction with other staff solving ride-related problems.
• Ensure that the ride is clean and visually in compliance with manufacturers' specifications, guest expectations, and Darien Lake standards.
• Ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications and state regulations, documenting as required.
• Inspect rides and attractions, notifying the Rides A Mechanic, Ride Maintenance Supervisor, and/or Ride Maintenance Manager of any hazards that may endanger the general public or Darien Lake staff.
• Keep all records up to date and organized (i.e., Logbooks, Inspection Forms, etc.).
• Operate within the policies and procedures of Darien Lake.
• Maintain good housekeeping standards in the area of responsibility.

Qualifications

• Ability to work at heights above 208' above grade.
• Ability to read, write, and implement maintenance and inspection procedures.
• Must possess own hand tools.
• Basic knowledge and experience in mechanics, gear reduction, pneumatics, hydraulics, and electricity.
• Ability to use skills to ensure the safe operation of rides and attractions.
• Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid New York State Driver's License and successful completion of Darien Lake Vehicle Training program.
